Overview
Reimburses the non-refundable portion of air fare and service charges when an international flight ticket is cancelled or reissued for an eligible reason, or in case of a genuine no-show. A higher-coverage step-up from Basic.
What's Covered
Any non-refundable portion of the Air Fare and Service Charges charged by the ticketing agent, arising from:
- Air ticket reissue/cancellation due to an Eligible Reason
- No-show at the scheduled flight departure due to an Eligible Reason
Eligible Reasons for Claim
- Insured Person's death or hospitalization due to unanticipated illness/injury
- Death or hospitalization of an Immediate Family Member requiring the Insured Person's presence
- A natural disaster (not forecasted/named in advance) preventing boarding
- Natural disaster at the destination rendering accommodation uninhabitable
- Widespread labor strikes acknowledged by a Public Authority
- Government travel restriction/ban that could not reasonably be anticipated
- Common Carrier cancellation/delay causing a no-show, due to weather, staff strikes, equipment failure, air traffic restrictions, or other carrier operational reasons
- Serious damage to the Insured Person's principal residence (fire, flood, earthquake, etc.) requiring their presence
- Insured Person kidnapped, detained, quarantined, or subpoenaed unexpectedly
- An accident involving the transport used to reach the airport, preventing boarding
- Revoked military leave or reassignment (defense personnel only)
- Termination/lay-off after 3+ years of continuous employment, through no fault of the Insured Person
Exclusions
- Any loss already compensated by the carrier/ticketing agent, or the refundable portion of expenses
- Delays/cancellations publicly announced in advance and reasonably known before booking
- Late arrival at the airport after official check-in time (outside an Eligible Reason)
- Air-fare difference due to rescheduling
- Bulk booking/group tickets
- Criminal or illegal activity
- Political strikes, riots, or civil unrest
- War, terrorism, invasion, rebellion, or similar acts
- Radioactive contamination or nuclear explosion
- Epidemics/pandemics
- Consequential losses and legal liabilities
- Disputed bookings/cancellations
- Visa refusal or change of mind
- Bankruptcy of the airline/ticketing agent
Eligibility & Policy Term
- Insured Person must be a Bangladeshi national aged above 18 years. Minors travelling must have an accompanying parent/legal guardian with a separate subscription on the same booking.
- Coverage starts from the date of ticket purchase and ends on the last flight date per the booking, or on occurrence of a claim, whichever is earlier.
Key Definitions
- Insured Person — a named passenger on a commercial flight PNR who opted for this coverage while booking.
- Immediate Family Member — spouse, children, parents, siblings, and parents-in-law.
- Common Carrier — any licensed scheduled airline transporting fare-paying passengers.
