Overview
A single-journey personal accident and travel ailment cover for Bangladeshi nationals travelling domestically by air or bus, aged between 6 months and 65 years at subscription.
Coverage Duration
1 day (the day of actual travel), with extended coverage of 2 days for Travel Ailments and 7 days for Dengue Fever.
Sub-limits for Accidental Injury Benefits
- Head Injury: BDT. 25,000
- 2nd & 3rd Degree Burn: BDT. 18,750
- Chest Injury, Internal Organ Injury: BDT. 12,500
- Acute Lung Injury, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome: BDT. 10,000
- Fracture, Dislocation, Amputation: BDT. 6,250
- Cut Injury, Abrasions, Soft Tissue Injury, 1st Degree Burn: BDT. 2,500
Limitations
- Minors (below 18) must travel with a parent/legal guardian who holds a separate subscription.
- Coverage applies only for travel within Bangladesh.
- 48-hour waiting period from departure applies for Dengue Fever.
- Dengue Fever is covered only if diagnosis is confirmed within 7 days of the journey.
- Only one claim is payable per illness/accident even if covered under multiple subscriptions.
Exclusions
General
- Any pre-existing illness, disability, or condition preceding the coverage start date
- Mental, emotional, or psychiatric disorders, alcoholism, or narcotic addiction
- Conditions arising from consuming addictive substances
- AIDS, AIDS-related illness, HIV, or sexually transmitted diseases
- Treatment/advice by a practitioner not registered with BMDC
Accidental Death
- Death from self-inflicted injury, assault, or unlawful/illegal activity
- Suicide, whether sane or insane
Accidental Injury
- Injury arising from unlawful activity or while under the influence of addictive substances
